The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild is proud to celebrate its 66th season of supporting music, education, and community in the Tennessee Valley. Founded in 1960, the Guild was created with a clear mission: to champion the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra through education, promotion, and fundraising. For more than six decades, our members have worked hand in hand with the orchestra to ensure that world-class music thrives in our community while creating meaningful opportunities for young people and families to experience the joy of live performance.
Through the dedication of volunteers and generous community support, the Guild contributes across a wide range of initiatives:
- Education & Outreach – Inviting fourth graders to the Young People’s Concerts, coordinating the Young Artists Auditions, and bringing hands-on fun to Panoply with the Musical Instrument Tent.
- Youth Development – Funding summer music camps through the Ruth Cole Weber Scholarships and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
- Community Access – Supporting the Annual Free Family Concert through the Painted Violin Society.
Our tradition of hosting vibrant, meaningful events has helped sustain the HSO for decades:
- The Symphony Ball – A Huntsville tradition since 1964.
- The Silver Tea – Supporting the Huntsville Youth Orchestra and music education since 1966.
- The Crescen-Dough Auction – A community favorite since 1973.
The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild’s commitment to the arts ensures that the HSO continues to grow and flourish, enriching lives and creating a cultural legacy that will inspire for generations to come.
